School Organizational Team
As part of the CCSD Reorganization Plan based on Nevada Assembly Bill, 394 each school will develop a School Organizational Team of elected parents, teachers, support staff and students. The purpose of the S.O.T is to support and give input to the principal.
The School Organizational Team's Duties are:
• Assist and advise development of the plan of operation (budget and school performance plan) each spring
• Provide continued assistance and advice to the principal in carrying out the plan of operation.
• Assist in the discussion of any additional authority to be transferred to schools to carry out responsibilities.
• Assist with the selection of the next principal when there is a vacancy.

Get Involved at LVA: Join the School Organizational Team
In accordance with Assembly Bill 469, each CCSD school will create a School Organizational Team (SOT) made up of elected licensed staff, education support professionals, parents/guardians, and students, as well as one or more optional, non-elected community members who will assist the principal in making important decisions that impact the school.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE SCHOOL ORGANIZATIONAL TEAM?
•Provide input on the school performance plan and budget.
•Provide continued advice to the Principal in carrying out the school plan.
•Assist with the selection of the next Principal when there is a vacancy.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS OF TEAM MEMBERS?
•Begin attending meetings in October 2026.
•Serve on the team through September 30, 2027, unless your child no longer attends the school.
•Attend all meetings in person to support meaningful discussions and ensure the team can maintain quorum. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, most often at 8:00 am in the school library. Additional meetings may occur as needed.
•Make decisions with the whole population in mind.
•Work collaboratively and attempt to reach consensus with the team.
***LVA staff who have children attending LVA are not eligible to participate on the team.***
If you are interested in serving on LVA’s School Organizational Team, please fill out and submit this NOMINATION FORM by Friday, September 4, 2026. Nomination forms can also be found on our school website. An online ballot of nominees will be presented for a vote through Google Forms on Friday, September 11, 2026.
