Program Curriculum

Las Vegas Academy Technical Theatre students are the heartbeat of our school. The technicians spend their Freshman year learning about the role of technicians within the world of theatre. They also take an elective class in theatre performance. Technical Theatre students will develop competency with sound, lighting, costumes and props, set design and construction. They begin their education with a background in theatre safety, OSHA regulations and operation on theatre systems in our three state-of-the-art performance venues.

As they continue on in their education, their work will be featured onstage as part of the Las Vegas Academy Theatre productions. Technical Theatre students work with the core faculty, and a variety of guest artists and technicians who specialize in various areas of technical theatre. Through the 4 year program, students will also have the opportunity to pursue several CTE (Career and Technical Education) credits.
