A new downtown coffee spot is on the way—and its success could directly benefit LVA students.
The Muse Cafe is being developed by Nick Della Penna, president of the Friends of LVA Foundation and co-founder of The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill. Located at 601 E. Bridger Ave., directly across from campus, the cafe will donate all of its profits to the Friends of LVA Foundation to support LVA programs and students.
What makes The Muse especially exciting is the opportunity for students to participate in the business itself. Students from across LVA’s programs may contribute their talents through art and design, film, live performances, technical theatre, marketing, social media, and other hands-on projects. Film students have already begun documenting the cafe’s development.
Plans include coffee and specialty beverages, breakfast and lunch options, as well as space where students and community members can meet, study, or work. The cafe is anticipated to operate seven days a week.
Funds generated through The Muse could help LVA provide additional equipment, instruments, technology, visiting artists, lessons, and other educational and artistic opportunities.
The Muse is expected to open this fall, creating a new partnership where student creativity, community involvement, and support for LVA all come together.
