Class of 2015 Alum Returns to Vegas in National Tour

In his second national Broadway tour, Maverick Hiu performs in "Tootsie" at the Smith Center May 24-29.

His interest in theater started after seeing his sister act in youth theater and then moving to Las Vegas at the age of 10. In an interview for The Smith Center, Hiu said that Las Vegas Academy of the arts gave him the artistic foundation to "thrive as a double major in musical theater and dance at Montclair State University."

"(LVA) is a very special place. The training and resources they have are incredible for a high school," Hiu says. "Being at a place like that really helped to propel me into college, and get a head start into maturing as an artist," said Hiu.
