Art Students Win Treasurer's Office College Funds

Yesterday, the Nevada State Treasurer’s Office hosted a reception to honor the winners of the second annual “What Do You What To Be When You Grow Up” Art Contest.

Congratulations to the LVA students who submitted and were recognized.

  • Chaeyeong K., 1st place in the 9th-grade category from Las Vegas Academy of the Arts Performing Arts Center

  • Wynn H., 2nd place in the 10th-grade category from Las Vegas Academy of the Arts Performing Arts Center

During the reception at North Las Vegas City Hall, Nevada State Treasurer Zach Conine announced the first, second, and third-place winners from each of the fourteen categories and welcomed attendees to enjoy the gallery of award-winning artwork on display. The first-place artists received $1,000 deposited into an SSGA Upromise 529 college savings account, the second-place artists received $500 and the third-place artists received $250.

The gallery of award-winning artwork will be displayed at the Whitney Library through Jan. 17, 2023, and at the Aliante Library from Jan. 23 - Mar. 20, 2023. The gallery can be viewed at www.nvigate.gov/2022-college-savings-art-contest-winners/.
