Map Scores Released to Parents

Parents, Guardians, and Students,

9th and 10th grade students recently took the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) tests for English and Math. The MAP tests show students’ current level of achievement and track progress over a period of time. An overview of your child’s MAP scores will be sent home with your student during the week of January 8th, 2024; your child’s English teacher will provide the MAP report to your child. We recommend that you talk with your child about their progress in their studies and set goals for the spring MAP assessments.

More information for understanding your child’s MAP scores can be found here: https://www.nwea.org/the-map-suite/family-toolkit/. Attached is the student achievement norms document where you can compare your child’s scores to the mean values for students taking the winter tests. By the end of the year, 9th-grade students are expected to obtain a minimum score of 221.40 on the MAP Reading test, and 230.03 on the MAP Math test. 10th graders are expected to obtain a minimum score of 223.51 on the MAP Reading test, and 232.42 on the MAP Math test by the end of the school year.

The spring MAP assessments will be taken between April 29th and May 17th. If you have any questions about the MAP reports or your child’s progress, please contact your child’s English or Math teacher.

Please contact the LVA Achievement office with any additional questions or concerns at 702-799-7800, ext. 4203.
