Your school starts at 7 am and ends at 2 pm (thirty minutes longer). Our academic program is rigorous and grades are very important. Students are expected to maintain a 2.0 GPA to remain at LVA and to be eligible for performances, special school activities, field trips, etc. Our expectations for you to succeed are very high. You will have homework every night and our academic teachers will not let you slide because you are talented.

Yes. CCSD Transportation picks up LVA students from all over the valley, including Boulder City! Due to our busy rehearsal schedules, LVA has a late bus every day at 4 pm – including Fridays.

First, you must submit an application (you can apply online at https://magnet.ccsd.net/. Once submitted, an email will be sent with your confirmation. Auditions will be held at LVA on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 and Saturday, February 5th, 2022. Audition information is available at lasvegasacademy.net under the Admissions tab. Auditions are open to students entering grades 9, 10, and 11. Admissions decisions are made based on that audition.

The Las Vegas Academy (LVA) is a public, magnet high school dedicated to Performing and Visual Arts. Students must choose a major in which to audition – art, dance, theater, theater tech, guitar, mariachi, vocal, band, orchestra, jazz or piano.

Students must have a LOVE of the arts (or ready to appreciate them). Instead of going to football and basketball games, students go to plays, dance shows, art shows, and concerts. You must want to come here and you must agree to stay for the entire school year, if accepted. Please remember that many other students wanted the seat given to you, so it is important that you fill it.

Federal regulations for Magnet Schools mandate that all students be apprised on the same date. After the lottery applicants will be emailed their results. Please contact your 1st choice school if you have not received the notification email by March 2022. Unfortunately, no magnet school can tell you any information before that date.

No – we do not have an athletic program. LVA students can participate in sports at their zoned home school, as long as they are eligible. We do have concerts, plays, exhibits, and after school activities 140 out of 180 school nights in a school year. WOW!
